One of the things that stood out at me back around the time of the first beta was how confident the marketing was. But for now, there is no communication on that point, this is part of their marketing campain I guess, to keep everything shady for consumers. There is no reason that this game doesn't get a season pass, every fighting game got at least 1 season pass. 90% of the fighting games on steam don't have crossplay, I'm ok with that, but how should it been advertised, usually publisher emphasis positive points, not bad ones. How is No crossplay available supposed to be a good thing to sell the game. Rollback netcode for online battles / No crossplay available" I feel their advertisement campain choices are debatable, I mean just look at their official website : Originally posted by Shizuma:I'd say Nexon communication on DNF Duel is pretty minimalistic. Hell, half of DBFz's problem was that ASW had little decision making power, and that namco and the DBFz rights holders are a bunch of out-of-touch business men. I agree to the point that Nexon is probably waiting to see what the initial response is like before committing to next steps, but the comparison doesn't really work, esp since it would be Nexon deciding the fate of the series, not ASW. Also, Granblue's gatcha aesthetic doesn't really appeal to everyone, and DNF benefits for a cooler, more streamlined character designs (you don't find a lot of people who are like OMG CHARLOTTA LOOKS SO COOL I WANT TO PLAY HERRR). To be fair, Granblue's biggest problem was that it launched with delay-based netcode. Why would they wanna do that to themselves, especially when they know interest will be little compared to brands like Dragon Ball and Guilty Gear? Just look at how "successful" Granblue Fantasy Versus was. They don't wanna set themselves up to create future updates if they have their own games still going.
